These Pages are Netscape 1.1N Enhanced

James Roden kindly sent in an incredibly old Web page, called The Computer Graphics and Education Home, which proclaims that it is still proudly enhanced for Netscape 1.1N.

I got a real kick out of this page, whose aesthetic sensibilities are right out of 1994, including a background that looks like concrete-colored linoleum, crudely buttonized navigational icons, and centered text. Especially wonderful are this page's hard-earned awards from WebCrawler, Point Communications (remember them), and something called "Hoppy's Site of the Day."

The site even contains a classic farewell message: "Due to other distractions (school, work, etc) I am unable to continue to update this web site as much as I would like. As a matter of fact, I am sorry to say that the content on this web page has not been touched for over a year. I still hope you can make the best of the material that is rpesented (sic) here."

In the site's source code, there's even an instance of primordial search engine SPAM (courtesy of something called "SearchTopper"), part of which reads:

Computer Animation Computer Graphics Computer Animation...
Design Design Design Design Design...
Help Help Help Help Help Help...
3D 3D 3D 3D 3D 3D 3D 3D...

Years before Google was even built, this site was ready for it...
