One-time (and still nominally) a member of the Establishment, Fingest Arnia's wild flights of fancy are tolerated partly out of pity for the man he once was but mostly because of the extravagance he lavishes on his friends. From a long-landed family, Fingest is a member of the so-called Amphitheatre Aristocracy which garners him a greater level of tolerance than would otherwise be the case. Some of his more outlandish theories have concerned entymology, mythology and even cooking.
