One other possibility is that these Cataclysmatologists are just plain old wrong: he did use the clarfying term "suggest", which means this isn't fact, and that the 10,000 -EC date is ''exactly how he wanted it, regardless of its evolutionary leap''. I think we need more clarification from Joe on what he was actually attempting here. John - are you sure the new timeframe is correct? How many steps/years of evolution are humans away from chimpanzees? That's seems to be the equivalent evolutionary step he's trying to make.
