The '''Knackerbat''', of the What-Was-That-That-Just-Flew-Past-My-Face!? family in [[ Kmuppens' Taxonomy]], is one of the most greatly misunderstood creatures on the face of Ghyll. It is not true that they are harmless, small creatures. It is not true that they only eat very small insects and drink nectar from flowers. It is not true that the biggest ones are only a couple of feet across, and it is not true that they don't drink blood. Contrary to popular belief, they really WILL swoop down, tunnel into your carapace and lay eggs there, and the biggest ones have, in fact, been known to carry off full grown Ghyllians in the night.

As a matter of fact, all of the above misconceptions about Knackerbats were true at one point, a long time ago, but thanks to the effects of [[Transformational theory|Transformation]], the creature that was once a tiny, fuzzy flying thing has become a huge, ferocious beast.

Knackerbats are very hard to describe. Most of the people who ever saw one clearly enough to describe it died halfway through their description, on account of it ate them. It is known that they have big, leathery wings, about twice as far from tip to tip as the average Ghyllian armspan. It is known that they are colored pitch black, and that they have [[Fur]]. It is known that they are nocturnal, and that they live in the [[Sarfelogian Mountains]]. It is also known that they have very sharp teeth.

"The Knackerbats" is also the name of a popular [[Quiver'n'bend]] group, known for their exceptionally positive, upbeat and friendly music.
