It's only for Macintosh, but perhaps they'll port it some day. The most kick ass PONG variant to come out in quite a while: "Blood Pong". This software gets it inspiration from the Mortal Kombat series of games, and is incredibly awesome in its detail... right down to Fatalities and normal character moves. This thing is a must download, even if you have to get some emulator to play it on your Wintel. . . . : ; The "CONTEST-WINNER" Notice Fun things to do for Christmas: Buy Morbus a new chair. Yes, that's right, folks: my once comfy chair of five years has bitten the dust, satisfying my ass with a nice hard piece of wood instead of the bunny like softness I'm used to. So if you have any warmth and kindness toward Disobey, buy me a new chair for Christmas, and um... a QuickCam for Macs so that you can see my ugly mug holding up a carton of milk. . . . : ; ANNOUNCEMENTS and the dawn of a new day... NETSLAVES RELEASED: This December 1, Disobey released NetSlaves to the public... and the first review we know of has come in: "Having had the privilege of reading a preview issue I can tell you that it is a thoroughly engrossing zine. Go there, subscribe. You'll be glad you did." I think that sums it up quite nicely. NEW DEVIL SHAT (#FortyOne): In a pathetic attempt to inter-relate everything within his life, Morbus publishes a Manifesto of the Futurist Programmer, written by a couple of programmers and some old Italian guy or something. It's pretty nifty. LOW HIGHWIDTH: Rather minor updates this time around... just added all of the archives as usual. Been quite busy with the release of NetSlaves along with the programming (see below). ZERO: Added a new song ("Gear"... it's _really_ good) as well as two new reviews concerning Method Man (yay, he's back. whoopee.) and the new Ice Cube album. LEVEL FOUR: All of the sections of Disobey are eventually going to move into "Level Four". Zero and NetSlaves already have (and by default, the Text section). What does this mean? Well, they pass the HTML 4.0 Transitional standard with no errors. This is important only if you're an anal webmaster as you'll see no difference in the display of the pages. HALTING OF IDEAS: Disobey has more than enough ideas to make about three more of itself, all filled with different sections and experiments. The problem is time and people. One: I have no time. Two: I'm one person. As such, there will be no more new sections of Disobey for quite a long time. With ten unique and individual section as it is, there is plenty for us (and you) to do and read. At the earliest, we plan for the next section of Disobey to appear on October 31, 1999. Be prepared. It'll be our largest site yet. WELP. DAMMIT: You see above where it said there is a halting of ideas on Disobey? Well, true. But you can also read about the new section which will be released next year. In our research for an essential piece of software for that section, we have found that there is none that we're happy with. Meaning that we have to program one. Dammit. We'll be porting it to both Macintosh, with initial development starting on the PC. Initial development meaning "reprogramming the wheel". MINOR UPDATES: We went crazy and did loads of tiny updates these past couple of weeks (so be prepared to be bored): Removed the counter from the secret page, mainly because it was incredibly pointless, and wasn't an accurate measure of anything (just look at the bottom of the main page if you care how many accesses we've gotten). Also corrected some paths concerning CGI-BIN (working at your ISP does have it's benefits). Many more corrections came because of getting a chance to look at our error-logs from the server (see aforementioned ISP benefit)... one of the major changes being filenames in Low Bandwidth having apostrophes and other upper ASCII characters. They have since been removed. . . . : ; EVERYTHING else and my elbow has a rash... 320K EVIL: The worse thing I can imagine is going to a website and noticing that you are only "1% of 320k" downloaded. 320k for one page? What the hell? 320k on one page is just plain aggravating. And then some people get the smart idea to take their 320k image, and divide it into 10 little images ("it'll load faster, yeah, that's it"). Um, that doesn't work either... as a matter of fact, it makes the page SLOOOWEER. Damn people. Suck. SIGS: I have 14 signatures now, made by me and contributions from the Peanut Gallery and The Annihilation Fountain. Don't ask me why I think this is some sort of accomplishment, but I decided to tell you about it. Do you feel fulfilled? . . . : ; BLAHBLAHS OF THE WEEK: ( november 20th - december 3rd ) [Bad-Ass-Movie-of-the-Week]-= I STILL KNOW BLOWS ALL SUMMER ---And I'm not talking about "bad ass good", I'm talking about "bad ---ass from a 300 pound woman with wrinkles and cancer spots ---all over it bad". I STILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER sucked ---horribly. Thank the lord I didn't pay for this shit. Do not let ---them think they did a good job. Do not go see this. [New-Toys-of-the-Week]-= McFarlane's Movie Maniacs ---Well, between John and I we have all of the Movie Maniacs besides ---the female Species toy. Eventually, I'm sure we'll have two sets ---as they are much too cool to have at only one person's house. . . . : ; The Issue Was Booted Incorrectly . . . : ; SUBSCRIBE: majordomo@disobey.com BODY: Subscribe ChicosGroove . . . : ; UNSUBSCRIBE: majordomo@disobey.com BODY: Unsubscribe ChicosGroove
