I may be the pot blackguarding the kettle here, but I think that the references to Karel Capek, Ford, and General Motors are just too in-your-face and should be replaced with something less explicit. Encyclopedants, what say you? --Jcowan 23:46, 6 Oct 2004 (EDT)

I agree. This is too close to "Earth parody" for me - see the discussion "Alternate Reality vs. Fictional World" on the Lexicon discussion. I admit, we're breaching into grey areas here: what with Sean's HANDBAG and the whole "Speedish Chef" / "BORK" thing, but blatant FORD/GM connotations, especially in regards to competing companies and mechanical automatims, are too much for me.
