See if you can figure out what song is hidden within this issue. If you can, I'll um... uh... get someone to go out on a date with you. . . . : ; The "BEEP!-BONG!-KA-CHINK!" Notice Besides the fact that I have been playing a lot of Nintendo games lately with their wonderful sound, I have also enabled sounds on my computer. Sounds that go beep and bonk. Why? Well, because of the brightness constantly screwing up, I now need to rely on my ears as well as my failing eyesight to figure out what the hell is going on. . . . : ; ANNOUNCEMENTS and beetles on my feet NEW DEVIL SHAT (#ThirtyNine): Well, Morbus got all nice and crap in Devil Shat this week, and delivers some article called "Goals to Achieve Inner Peace". It's probably not even worthwhile. Self-help sucks. LOW BANDWHO?: Added three new archives, one listing, and one review as well as updating a bunch of "Last Verified" fields... Also removed one entry which had snuck in there, but wasn't really available through email, and, due to a reader comment, condensed the advertising headers on the relevant pages. On another anality note, the "Since:" field in the listings was standardized and the way "Reviews" appear has been changed. NEW GHOST SITES (#21): With deaths of Omni Magazine, Pathfinder, Paranoid.com and more, Ghost Sites continues on its cursed voyage of discovering the bitwood scattered around the Internet. With such deaths like these and those previous, Ghost Sites details an important history of the Internet... ZERO: We recently wrote a number of tasks we need to do to make the next update of Zero a better one. Minor areas about how things are formatted, how pages are linked, and stuff like that. But important ones none the less. And as such, we accomplished the following: added new mp3 called "Love". Wow... a lot, huh? NEW FRONT PAGE DESIGN: Needed to be done... although relatively the same as previous versions of the webpage, we shaved off some download time (in both graphics as well as the HTML), shrunk things down a bit, and are cleaning house on Detergent, and integrating it with the main page. Some more tweaking, and I should be totally happy with it. MINOR UPDATES: Added three email to Devil Shat Thirty Eight. If you have Javascript enabled, you'll now notice that the front page Disobey logos change upon each reload... There are five variants up there now, more will be coming (got some new fonts). Fixed up some errors in Devil Shat, as well as the incredibly noticeable misspelling of "Judgments". Heh... it only took two years to fix it... Thanks, guys. . . . : ; EVERYTHING else and beetles on my carpet TYPING REALLY FAST: Have you ever had a day when you think you are typing faster than you have ever typed before? Where you feel like you answered your email a whole lot quicker than you normally do, and even writing this paragraph seems to be flying by you as you don't make a mistake, nor look at the keyboard? No? Just wondering. ORGANIZING, ORGANIZING: Welp, my idea folder was getting a little mussy, so I spent an afternoon glancing quizzically at scraps of text, paper, and clips of images, trying to figure out what the hell I was thinking. Either way, it's all been organized in a nice neat folder. Found some old stuff that should be going up on the site soon, and some other interesting tidbits that might come to light. Gotta be a slave to the Net though (ooOOOooooHHhh... hint! hint!). . . . : ; BLAHBLAHS OF THE WEEK: ( october 23th - november 5th ) [Not-Too-Shabby-of-the-Week]-= The New Macintosh OS ---It's definitely a helluva lot faster than the older versions, and ---OS 8.5 has definitely reduced and expanded upon a lot of things. ---And yes, Sherlock is awesome, the themes rock, and I like it alot. ---If only I could figure out why random ICON files are popping up ---in the Disobey directory, I'll be all right. [Weird-Ass-Movie-of-the-Week]-= The Butcher Boy ---This movie almost makes it okay to be a weirdo kid, going around ---during the time of the Cold War and acting the way this kid does. ---I don't want to give anything of this movie away, but you should rent ---it. Be forewarned: there are some parts where you want to fast forward ---through it... resist the temptation. [Coolest-Way-To-Find-Disobey-of-the-Week]-= Search Engine Skill ---From a new subscriber of Devil Shat: "Web search on Dogpile with ---'evil teletubbies'... sniff, sniff... we're so proud. Eh oh! [Queer-Promotion-of-the-Week]-= Child's Play Dolls ---These things are popping up everywhere. Chucky was on Comedy ---Central, with a different colored hair Jennifer Tilley, and a ---"didn't really sound or look like the real Chucky" sitting next to ---her, bitching about Shocktober or something.
