Notice Yeah, we're working on stickers. Not because people requested them or because we feel there is a need for them, but because long, long ago, I bought a box of Avery stickers... AND NEVER USED THEM. So, we're using them now. And besides the fact that the QuarkXpress 4.03 updater doesn't seem to want to work for me, we're doing fine. . . . : ; The "EVIL-LINT" Notice So, I got a laundry in the dryer right now (imagine it, Morbus doing a laundry!), and someone before me must have had Lint of the Living Dead. This stuff was sticky! And it wouldn't come off the magical lint screen. Quite annoying. I shook rigorously and that got a lot of it off, but still a little left... Yup. . . . : ; ANNOUNCEMENTS and other miscellaneous nunneries THE DISOBEY NEWS NETWORK BEGINS BROADCASTING: The biggest development at Disobey this issue was the unveiling of the Disobey News Network. Expect, each and every day (well, except for weekends), the latest news, stupidest websites, information about art, illustration, media, "the underground", and a bunch of other topics as varied as life itself... all related to the very culture that Disobey and its viewers belong to. You can check out the daily news on the main Disobey page and then check out all the previous news by clicking the image or by going to http://www.disobey.com/dnn/ LOOKING FOR CORRESPONDENTS: We already have a number of correspondents set up for the Disobey News Network (DNN), but we would always love more. Basically, correspondents send us news every week or so... doing so will make the Disobey News Network as varied as the culture it reports. For more information, please point your browser to http://www.disobey.com/dnn/explanation/correspondents.htm NEW DEVIL SHAT (#ThirtySeven): Shocking the crap out of people is hard enough these days without everyone getting used to exactly what we should be shocked about. Confused? Read the newest Devil Shat, filled with seven different statements that should shock or offend, but don't... and reasons why. NEW GHOST SITES (#20): Celebrating its twentieth issue, we plunge the faithful reader into a moribund collection of the dead, brought about by that wonderful voice called Steve Baldwin. Fantasize about Zine.Net, diaries from Carolyn and Bill Gates, and much more. As well as a new issue, Ghost Sites made its rounds again and picked up mentions in the Lexington Herald-Leader and won an award from Seven Wonders. Will it ever end? LOW UPDATE: Added more archives than I care to admit (lots!), as well as a review for Viewer Discretion and some modifications to some listings which needed it. Did a minor update to the Thank You page (which had been bugging me for a while), and corrected and added some links to the Resources page. And finally got around to adding two new listings. NEW ZERO: The new Chemical Brother's album isn't as good as it should have been, according to John Treacy... read his full review at Zero along with a review of Prodigy's "The Fat of the Land". And if you haven't had a chance to check it out, last week, he released a new song of his called "Winter"... check it out. MINOR UPDATES: Silly me learned something new but obvious concerning Java mouseovers, and thus modified every single instance of ONMOUSEOVER in the site. Which was something like 3000. If you have no clue what I'm talking about, than it all has something to do with the little words that appear in the bottom of your browser, and how they wouldn't go away. Now, they go away. Devil Shat had an eventful week with email being added to the following issues: Issue Two (1), Issue Four (1), Issue Eighteen (1), Issue Thirty Four (1), Issue Thirty Five (4), and Issue Thirty Six (3). Go check 'em out. . . . : ; EVERYTHING else and stuff you want to burn in a fireplace TOTAL MEGS: The Disobey website is now a total of 36.9 megs of quality content and original media for you to enjoy. Although incredibly large, we're not stopping. When you start one section, yeah, it takes up your time for a while, but then you get used to its added workload, you think about what else you can do... Disobey is in a constant state of evolution, and dammit, it ain't ever gonna stop. It's got a life of its... hey, that gives me an idea (scribble, scribble). NOT THAT YOU CARE: Finally got QuarkXpress updated... silly me thought I had the US version, when I really had the International English version. Ah twell. DAMN FINGER: So I'm trying to feed my cats, and I'm opening one of those pull tab cans. And I'm telling myself: "Ok, last time I did this, I sliced my fucking finger open, and it sucked. Not going to do it this time, am I, Kevin?" (I don't call myself Morbus in my thoughts, sorry schizotheory people). So what the hell do I decide to do to myself anyways? Slice my damn thumb opened. Badly. Deep. Blood everywhere. Literally. Sucked. I think I need stitches but Disobey is putting me in the poor house, so band-aids will do the job. Ow. . . . : ; BLAHBLAHS OF THE WEEK: ( september 25th - october 08th ) [Chips-of-the-Week]-= Humpty Dumpty Ketchup Chips ---As far as I know, Humpty Dumpty are the only people who make ---Ketchup Potato Chips. And people are so afraid of trying 'em. "Hey! ---You want a ketchup chip?" "A wha? Weirdo!"... no one seems to make ---the connection between french fries and ketchup. Ah twell. Either way, ---ketchup rocks. Don't leave them out though, cos they'll start stinking ---up the place. [Games-of-the-Week]-= Emulation ---I finally broke out some game software this weekend, because I need ---to reduce (or increase it, ha!) my stress level. So, I've been playing ---1943 on MAME for a while... I love old games. And the funny thing is, ---I got this great idea as I was playing them. It's a distance away, but ---expect game related stuff from Disobey in the future. [CD-of-the-Week]-= Forgotten Freshness ---I don't know about you, but I like the Insane Clown Posse. A lot. So ---anyways, just got "Forgotten Freshness" which is a two cd set of all ---this stuff that was never released. Now, I just need to get the ---video, and I'll be all set. Haha. Whoo. [Suck-Ass-Soda-of-the-Week]-= Jolly Treat Lemon Up ---Normally, Jolly Treat is good. 99 cents for a three liter bottle of ---soda. Obviously, the price is good too. But, as much as their other ---flavors kick ass, I can't stand Lemon Up. I don't even know why I got ---it. I slogged through half the bottle, but could not insult my palette ---any more. The rest went down the drain. [Movie-of-the-Week]-= ANTZ ---Dreamworks has been kicking ass recently, after finally finding out ---that they'll make a lot of money if they beat all the other movie ---studios to the theatre. Starring Woody Allen (who kicks ass, too), ANTZ ---was a damn good movie. Highly enjoyable. [Other-Movies-of-the-Week]-= 4 good 15 minute picks ---15 minutes in the movie store picked up 8 hours of awesome movies: ---PIN: spanning a child's lifetime, this is an awesome moody story ---with a surprise ending; THE GATE: coolest little evil demon ---minions I have ever seen; THE WICKER MAN: if ever you needed a conversion ---video TO Christianity, this is it; PARENTS: one of those strange movies ---with another strange twist... damn good. . . . : ; The Issue Was Given To The Salvation Army . . . : ; SUBSCRIBE: majordomo@disobey.com BODY: Subscribe ChicosGroove . . . : ; UNSUBSCRIBE: majordomo@disobey.com BODY: Unsubscribe ChicosGroove
