. . . : ; C h i c o ' s G r o o v e ; : . . . . . . : ; . . . : ; neetthgie - august 27 1998 . . . : ; . . . : ; http://www.disobey.com/ . . . : ; The "GOTTA-BURP" Notice I still haven't found any decent replacement for a new soda, which is depressing, so I have been drinking Market Basket Root Beer soda, and CVS Cola... both less than 80 cents. I need some Faygo on tap, that's what I need. . . . : ; The "STILL-SAD" Notice It's hard to get to sleep at nights. She always used to come up and sleep with me, in my arms. It just sucks. A couple of nights have been hell... me just tossing and turning in my bed. Argh. . . . : ; ANNOUNCEMENTS and my PalmPilot Proffessional... NEW DEVIL SHAT (#ThirtyFour): Devil Shat is filled with nonfiction and fiction this time, closely intertwined until they make one blur of annoyance between what is real and what is not. Of course, that last sentence makes it seem way better than it actually is. Meet Warren Cassidy, Robert Gallant, and read about Morbus doing my laundry. What's that phrase again? Oh yeah, this is excitement at its best. ZERO IS UPDATED: Added a bunch of new reviews (including Rob Zombie's newest "Hellbilly Deluxe") and a new song: "Cadirilla"... only 841k and in mp3 format. Download. Comment. Now. LOW BANDWIDTH (are you getting sick?): Added seven new listings, and removed three dead ones. We do plan to do something with the dead ones, we just need to get some more of 'em and some more time. Anyways, we also underlined the first couple of words in related sentences in the "Er... Um... Yeah" section for those listings who had a lot of stuff in there. Just a simple way for people to jump to the next section if the one you're reading is boring. The Low Bandwidth Low Down was released also... a little note to everyone within the database about new features, what they can do to help us, and what has happened in the past two months. Minor updates included adding new resources, updating the "verified active" date on a lot of listings, and due to some help from Adam C. Engst from TidBITS, getting a major update on the compatible email programs that can be used with our subscription buttons. Added some reviews for Capital of Nasty, the Annihilation Fountain, and Poor Richard's Web Site News. COLLECTED WORKS GET ALL PRETTY: Some artwork was added to the C. Barry Slough section... coming from a couple of different artists, expect to find imagery for the following stories: "Making Fissues of Men", "Meat", "Momma Sow and the Piglets" and "Pedro's Wine". If you haven't been reading this stuff, you really should. DEVIL SHAT UPDATED: We played around with how the font color looked for Devil Shat, to see if we could give it more of a brighter sheen for those of you with crappy monitors. No good. We had some options, but they were all sickly when compared to everything else. So, too bad. We also played around with how multiple-part article titles are handled, and our changes were applied. Added two new email to Devil Shat Thirty Three. KUDOS - MORE: Ghost Sites was mentioned at the New York Times (they seem to really like us), as well as The Drudge Retort (notice we said "Retort"... long story about Matt forgetting his payment... naughty, naughty). Will it ever end? Nope, since Ghost Sites was also mentioned/reviewed in Inter@ctive Week from ZDNet while Disobey was named a "Minion of the Claw" and got the matching reward. COS WE'RE GOOD TO YOU: We threw an extra line up on the front page of Disobey... and if you have no clue what Disobey or its sections are, it probably won't make any sense. If you're a fast learner, you'll notice that it is the abbreviation for each section along with a date following it. See, we were updating the site much too fast for everyone to come by every day and see what we did. So, we figure we do a tiny section update line... so you can see when the last time your favorite section of Disobey was updated. Cos we're good to you. . . . : ; EVERYTHING else and ...just ran out of batteries BEING ALL COOL AND SHIT: Well, I got invited to some computer seminar in my home town, so I feel cool. I don't know if I should be, but I know that I do. We're printing up Disobey pamphlet thingies and gonna give em to interesting people. Some guys from Photoshop are going to be there, amongst some other important company people. Yay. I hate collars. Ah twell. NEW MOVIES: Some video store bought out another video store and had a huge sale of movies that they didn't want. So, new to the Disobey movie selection this week is: Bad Taste, Freddy's Nightmares (vol. 1), Fright Night Part II, and PaperHouse. And finally got a copy of Son of Godzilla too... still looking for Godzilla's Revenge though... REAL - FAKE: Welp, for some strange reason, I decided to try Real technologies again, and strangely enough, this time they worked! Seems the transition from a 28.8 modem to a 33.6 did the trick. So, I've been on a mad-dash learning all about the stuff. Sounds like fun, eh? Expect and hope to find some RealAudio content from Disobey sometime in the far future. GOING TO BOSTON: Yup, went for a day... quite exciting. Got handed a bunch of religious tracts, only saw one perfume nazi (which is pretty good considering all the stores we went into), and saw some guy with a billboard that said "Jesus or Hell". I need to get into the big city some more... it's so fun! Cos you have old oriental women handing out tootsie rolls, and rude store keepers who are too busy to help your sorry ass. I love it. Also found out that Sam Goody has the best collection of buy-able horror movies that I have seen in a while. ONE YEAR: If you were observant, you would have saw on Sunday that it was the one year anniversary of myself and Katie. I love her. Uh huh. Like a wicked lot and stuff. . . . : ; BLAHBLAHS OF THE WEEK: ( aug 14th - august 27th ) [SpamCalls-of-the-Week]-= Fire Department Balls ---What the hell does the Fire Department need a Ball for anyways? What ---are they so bored because there are not enough arsonists around, that ---they have to go and dance and be merry? Damn. And how many times a year ---do they have these things? Seems we just got called two weeks ago. [Dream-of-the-Week]-= Morbus and Halloween ---Just woke up from having a dream about me being inside a movie ---called "Halloween: Karma". Started out funny, bunch of Ethiopians ---trying to attack America because we wouldn't send them food. ---They surrounded our house and started trying to burn it down. And ---then he showed up, and started killing people (yes, even after he ---"died" in H20). It was interesting to say the least. [Nice-Thing-of-the-Week]-= Some bus passenger... ---This nice man decided to give up his seat so that I could sit next to ---my sweetie. What a nice guy. I'm sure the female I was sitting next to ---was happy about that. She had a baby, and I don't think she liked me ---waving to it. The baby looked at me, waved, I waved back, and she kinda ---moved its head so that it was not in my direction. Katie seems to think ---it was because I look like Satan. I don't think so. I think it was because ---of the "Charlie Don't Surf" t-shirt I was wearing. Ah twell. [Trick-O-Please-Work-of-the-Week]-= Speech Recognition ---Borrowed a microphone from John, so I'm gonna try to set up one of the ---machines to be total speech rec'd. When I say "fxck you", I want it to ---shut itself down, so I can calm down. And other fun stuff. . . . : ; The Issue Was Given a MudSlide to Relax . . . : ; SUBSCRIBE: majordomo@disobey.com BODY: Subscribe ChicosGroove . . . : ; UNSUBSCRIBE: majordomo@disobey.com BODY: Unsubscribe ChicosGroove
