. . . : ; C h i c o ' s G r o o v e ; : . . . . . . : ; . . . : ; neetxis - july 30 1998 . . . : ; . . . : ; http://www.disobey.com/ . . . : ; The "TOO-MUCH-CANDY" Notice I am drooling because I put too much of this Willy Wonka candy in my mouth. Something like Tart N Tiny... I put a whole bag... Ah twell. I am still waiting for them to release the candy that turns you in a giant blueberry. I have a great idea that has to do with bowling. . . . : ; The "MORE-MOVIES" Notice Yeah, my friend and I bought six new (old) movies for twenty five bucks. Some nice ones too. Well, nice in that weird sort of way. I'm not even going to list them for you. Trust that they are, of course, horror. . . . : ; ANNOUNCEMENTS and are you getting tired of this? NEW DEVIL SHAT (#ThirtyTwo): With the first of a two parter, Morbus explains why the legalization of all drugs is BAD. And it wasn't his idea. He just read something he so vehemently disagreed with, he decided to let the world see his response. And a long lost piece of writing from a thank god he's gone author reawakens... go read the issue: http://www.disobey.com/devilshat/ds980730.htm ZERO RETURNS: It had to happen. The Zero section was taken down a while ago for reasons best left unsaid. But who cares about then? Now is now. And Zero is Now. Back again with seven full songs, and new reviews each week, it is time you folks got reacquainted. GHOST SITES REMEMBERED: Due to server reconstruction over at Pathfinder, one of the many articles that Ghost Sites was known for was lost. And it wasn't just any old article... it was THE article... the one that made Steve Baldwin famous. So, what'd we do? We added it to our site... the creation of a legacy cannot simply be misplaced. Finally got around to adding all those awards I had mentioned last issue too. DEVIL SHAT UPDATE: Remember a long time ago, when I told you that 3Com had ripped off Disobey? Well, it involved a prediction that I had made way back in the nineteenth issue of Devil Shat, January 29th to be exact. I finally got around to posting the ad that I am talking about, and now you can check it out too. Have a blast: http://www.disobey.com/devilshat/ds980129.htm DETERGENT SLIGHTLY: Detergent got a tiny update this week... mostly the code was changed to make it a little more easier to expand upon. The code just wasn't going with our ideas, so we had to play around with it. Honestly, if you go there, it is going to look like nothing has changed. The link colors will be the most noticeable, because it all lies in the code. This code was a bitch to change. Took me all morning and half the afternoon due to stupidity, phone calls, and not thinking things through. And so it goes. LOW UPDATED... WELL, OF COURSE: Turning one month old this week, it started out better than we had imagined... and as such, we got out ass kicked with the amount of stuff we were unprepared for. But, hey, you know. At least it's here, it's good, and people like it. Added six new listings and a crapload of new archives as well as modifying the meta words on the pages to be a little more indicative of what the hell it is. COLLECTED WORKS, DAMN THING: It had been bothering me for quite a while: getting screenplay formatting to look the same in all the browsers. The most annoying thing was that in the 3rd generation browsers, it looked great. In the fourth generation, it looked like ass. So, I sat down again today, and played around with it, and found a format that works the same in the third and fourth generation browsers that I tested it on. Hallafuckingloula. THE DEBUGGING HAS BEGUN: In attempts to become the most anal person in the world, I have started to debug each and every single page of the Disobey website. The first step is to check the HTML coding on every single page for errors. The second is to spellcheck everything for accuracy. And then, if I can find a halfway decent grammer check, to check that too. What have I finished? Well, I checked the code for the Collected Works and Detergent section. Next up is the code for the Devil Shat... ah twell... insert big sigh here. MINOR UPDATES: We sat down and took a long look at our history, and gave the most complete listing of everything Disobey has appeared in, has contributed too, everything we have won, and all that good crap. We are still working on the links for them all, but you can see it all on the Kudos page of the Detergent section: http://www.disobey.com/detergent/kudos.htm AGAIN MINOR UPDATES: Also added to the quote script... going from 360 quotes to 385 quotes. Finally got the StartupQuote file and the actual website script spellchecked and all that other organization garbage. I'm going to be looking at some PC programs to port it over too also. . . . : ; EVERYTHING else and does anyone read this crap? WOWEE-ZOWEE: Website is now up to 32 megs. That's pretty flipping big for a website. Hmmf. We must be doing something right, I hope. Ah twell. TOO MUCH CANDY, UPDATE!: Yeah, uh... my face is all red, cos I just started choking on the damn thing. I hate candy. In the midst of coughing, I am amazed to find that only two were projectiled out of my mouth (out of maybe 40). Not that bad of a ratio. GETTIN IT TOGETHER: Well, I got all my thoughts together... you know, the thousands of pieces of scraps of paper that you write these little things down that will only make any sense to you, and you'll probably forget what they mean six months from now? Yeah, well, I typed them all up into one file. I got some interesting stuff prepared for you, it seems. GETTIN IT TOGETHER, PART EYE EYE: Finally cleaned out my plug-ins folder for my image program. Lemme tell you something, when you have 60 megs of plug-ins, and it takes about 5 minutes for your program to load up... it's time to clean it out. There were a ton of redundancies... all from the fact that I just randomly installed every plug-in I could find. Ah twell. That's what you get. WENT TO THE BEACH: Yup, yet again... and I went further into the water! Wow, huh? I hate the water, but I love who I am with. We spent about $20 on those little booths just taking... interesting pictures for no one but us to see. Whoo dog. We went there twice this week. I am getting out into the world! It's amazing. . . . : ; BLAHBLAHS OF THE WEEK: ( july 17th - july 30th ) [Movies-of-the-Week]-= Uh... Bunches. ---Prom Night II: Hello Mary Lou (good movie), Beetlejuice (I have a ---hard-on for Tim Burton), Dolls (same person for the ReAnimator, good ---flick), Hobgoblins (so bad it's good... yup... one of those), and ---Disturbing Behaviour (check out my review in an upcoming email zine... ---more info as it comes), and Mafia (why did I see this at all?
