Notice It's really not. I could bitch on and on about how this is an important cultural study or that all those people who write journals online would love this type of thing, but I'd be lying. So I won't. I don't know why people read this. . . . : ; The "SO-WHY-DO-PEOPLE-READ-THIS?" Notice They find me attractive. Sometimes they say I have pretty hair. I don't believe them. I need a trim because I have split ends. Split ends are bad, very bad. . . . : ; ANNOUNCEMENTS and no really, they told me so NEW GHOST SITES (#15): From the GAP (Gallery of Advertising Parody) to a Titanic server that should have waited a couple of months (the university it was on decided it got too much traffic), Steve Baldwin brings you yet another issue of dead things. NEW DEVIL SHAT (#TwentySix): Don't depend on this issue. Don't depend on this description either. YAKUB IS NO LONGER WITH US: Sad to say, but Yakub is no longer a part of Disobey. Some people have heard of this already... this is the final breakdown: it was not a bad breakup, he might be back, he no longer has internet access so stop trying to mail him, he is getting his life back together, yes, I still love him. Stop asking questions now. STUPID WEB TRICK #334: When you have as many pages on a site as Disobey does, you face a deadly task each and every New Years: updating all the copyright dates. I had to face that this year, and I didn't like it one bit. So what did I do? Modified all the copyright blurbs so that they are images instead. Now, I only need to modify one image and then upload that image for all the copyrights to be changed. This has been Stupid Web Trick #334. LOW BANDWIDTH HAS SLOWED DOWN: Due to the leaving of Yakub, Low Bandwidth has not had the amount of attention it had been getting before. For those of you who had been hearing an "end of April" release date... well, it won't happen. Don't worry, it's coming. I just don't know when just yet. As a matter of fact, it is pretty close. I did a lot more work on it this week, and it is coming along quite nicely. LOW BANDWIDTH HAS SPED UP: We started sending out the first requests for confirmation this week, and boy, did editors respond. Of the seven we sent out, three have agreed to some of our major features. Do we sound vague? Yeah, we are. You'll see, soon enough (insert evil laugh here). COLLECTED WORKS GETS MORE: We're gearing up to become Ben Ohmart's official site and you'll see some changes happening to his part of the site in the next coming weeks. They haven't happened yet, but they will be. Three new stories were also added to Arunas Statkus's section called Home Dentistry, The Day The Earth Fell, and The Letter. MINOR UPDATES: A bunch of stupid ones this week including: a modification of the main page with Chico's Groove getting its own image (oooOoOoHhhH!); a correction of formatting in one of the Devil Shat text issues; Ghost Sites was modified both in the layout of the folders, and cleaning up of stupid code; the Disobey page under Detergent was modified to remove Yakub (and also to add his name to "contributors" in the Devil Shat section) and to reflect the new places that we have been mentioned; the whole site was re-uploaded to fix a website wide error found in Internet Explorer 3.01 and yes, it was annoying; finally, I added a computer image my girlfriend drew to the Disobey page of the Detergent section. . . . : ; EVERYTHING else and yes, they did! i'm not lying! GHOST SITES BECOMES IMPORTANT: It's pretty pathetic when you find out that Microsoft ripped you off. And although, Microsoft rips off everything else, they could have least bought us out. What the hell are we talking about? Well, it seems that MSNBC had a feature titled "Web of the Living Dead". What was it? A poor attempt. They probably saw mention of Ghost Sites at the ABCNEWS.COM article, and thought it was good enough to copy. Ah twell. WEBSERVER AND MAILSERVER: These past two weeks have been kinda hectic. Disobey was moved to a faster server to better serve you (for some strange reason, the hit counts just keep getting higher). And as such, some problems arose. I was without mail for two days, although I think I got everything from the server backlog. And the webserver was done late Friday night for some strange reason. Hopefully, we're working out all the kinks, and we should be back to normal soon. WE ARE CRUEL: Thanks to our friends, we found out the sheep movie on Disobey was featured as Cruel Site of the Day from http://www.cruel.com/ on April 4th. Their tagline? "Sheep Cruelty That Has Nothing To Do With Kentucky Coming-of-Age Rituals." If you haven't seen the stupid movie yet, it's about time. . . . : ; BLAHBLAHS OF THE WEEK: ( apr 24th - may 7th ) [Morbus-Is-Feeling-Old-of-the-Week]-= Age is catching up... ---Sniff, sniff.
