While I agree with your comments in general, facts are maintenance is boring while creativity keeps you alive. We have a standing rule around my house - chores before fun stuff... otherwise the boring stuff would never get done (and we'd live in a pig sty with broken pipes, uncut grass, etc.)... Who would like to live like that? If something works - and continues to work well - then there are a multitude of people who appreciate that don't report back to the creator, "This is working great and I love it!"... (Similiar to the housework that gets done - when it doesn't people notice it - otherwise it is an 'unnoticeable effort' upon our parts)... Example - the "AZZ Card" file software program... It is essential to just about everything I do online... As is "Cool Menu"... Whenever I upgrade to a new computer, these are the first two software programs I install... I try to think of maintenance in this fashion (and it makes it much easier for me to accept)... While life goes on and grows like a coral reef, it is built on the basis of something... And if that basis is disturbed, threatened or destroyed, it wouldn't matter how beautiful the coral reef is - it'll die without a foundation... And maintenance is a foundation, as boring as it is!
Cloverfield (2008; Holy crap, this was good. Would be a great double-header with The Host.); Communion (1989; Didn't work for me. Walken an odd choice, and it was more humorous than tense.); The 400 Blows (Criterion Spine #4) (1959; Truffaut's first feature; I'm looking forward to the Antoine Doinel followups.); Silent Rage (1982; Great beginning and Norris-appreciation, but slow and meandering ending.); Dakota Bound (2001; An actual plot, good cheesy action scenes, and lesbians. Amazingly good.);
