Some missing objects that have been on my "wouldn't it be cool if this was discovered?" list for some time include:
The priceless lost Auto Union/Mercades-Benz pre-war Silver Arrow racing cars. They were apparently smuggled into Czechoslovakia and then not seen again... there are probably some rotting away in people's barns.
Love's Labour's Won and The Isle of Dogs. Lost plays by William Shakespeare, and Thomas Nashe and Ben Johnson. Finding either of these would massively increase our understanding of the time, give fame to the finder(s), and boost our vocabulary to boot.
My keys. Where the crap did I put them?

Cloverfield (2008; Holy crap, this was good. Would be a great double-header with The Host.); Communion (1989; Didn't work for me. Walken an odd choice, and it was more humorous than tense.); The 400 Blows (Criterion Spine #4) (1959; Truffaut's first feature; I'm looking forward to the Antoine Doinel followups.); Silent Rage (1982; Great beginning and Norris-appreciation, but slow and meandering ending.); Dakota Bound (2001; An actual plot, good cheesy action scenes, and lesbians. Amazingly good.);
