[01:37:16]<threexk>maybe the current problem is because RewriteBase doesn't apply to subdirectories? if the RewriteBase is /mysite, seems like a theme file should see /mysite/ as root

I.e. some people (say a manager role and the user) can see all of the user's profile & edit it, another set of people (defined by role or user ID) can see a limited portion of the profile (a subset of the CCK fields) and general users--well, they don't get to see anything at all.
